Feeling sick sucks!

Just in case anyone forgot.

Things are slow at work right now, which also sucks, because it would help to have something to focus on. So yeah, I'm sick, and sick of being sick. puke

What weights have set to burden
our otherwise unhindered souls?

Fate is not but what we seek
hopes and dreams that meld to shape
the smiles of faces yet unseen
of the future to be formed.

Unmarred by our shared past
unshackled from our thoughts
let us dream ten thousand dreams
from the depths of star filled skies
to be inspired and enlightened
and glance...

Haven't had the inclination to post here in a while, so I haven't. I would prefer to avoid a journal full of loathing and whining. Complaining to no one in particular, as it were.

Work has returned at long last to a state where I am able to make a meaningful contribution. This is a very good thing, as it contributes to a better and...

Well, I was hoping to post about my fabulous weekend of snowboarding with butterflies, along with a video of the day. Unfortunately, the hard drive in my powerbook decided to die just as I'd finished 8 hours of editing the whole thing together. Dead, as in unrecoverable, hardware failure, computer locks up hard when trying to access it, dead. mad

The thing that really ticks me...

This week should be short on work and big on fun. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off to head down to Portland and check out the Vans Invitational Skate and BMX competition. Also, a snowboard Rail Jam in downtown Portland on Thursday night should be cool, and I'll probably shoot over to Hood for at least one day of riding before the weekend is over.

Work is becoming more tolerable, and even approaching something close to enjoyable again with a new project. It's giving me a chance to exercise creative muscles that have been dormant for too long, which is a much better feeling than, well, not exercising those creative muscles. I like it when I wind up working on stuff late into the evening not because I need to...

I just watched an Osprey harvest nesting material from a stand of trees across the street from me for about half an hour. Unfortunately, he was too quick for my camera skills, but what a treat to see! That dude could break off some big branches. shocked

To partially sum up the past 36 hours:

- 14 hours of driving
- 4 hours of sleep (non-consecutive)
- 2 hours staring up at a clear night sky
- 1 hour walking along a river bed
- 45 minutes hiking up a snowfield
- 5 minutes of snowboarding.

It was still completely worth it biggrin

Photos may get posted later, after I get a little...

My snowboard has been watching me, taunting me from the dark corner it inhabits during its long rests. It's eyes staring blankly, awaiting its next resurrection to the mountain.

This is really just to say, time for a road trip. smile
samling:

On Sunday, I drove my little SUV over to an air conditioned theater to watch a movie about global warming. As if these 90+ degree temperatures in Seattle aren't evidence enough...

Also, as if you didn't already know, job interviews and working late are both unhappy things, particularly when they occur on the same day and on multiple sequential days.

On the brighter side, the...
