There are such intricate twisting and turnings to the human spirit, the human mind, the human being. Choices are made, knowingly, unknowlingly. Paths are changed, for better, for worse. In all the myriad ways it all unfolds, who can tell which way those around them will turn. Who can know what betrayals lay unthought of, unexpected, down paths yet unknown; or even what unexpected loyalties will bless them? Increasingly the chances advance, ever more dangerous, ever more difficult to descifer the further spirits and paths entwine, the closer things get. The simplest mistake, a single wrong choice, done foolishly to serve some great desire, some fatal emotion, can change the end of things, ever so far down the road. One would never see it coming, never know what that choice could possibly do, how it could be the one thing that makes a moment that could go either way, suddenly and violently turn ever so much worse.
We are such delicate beings, capable of fierce emotions of loving, joy, pain, anger, delight, hatred, and countless others. At times it seems the things we are capable of are too much for our physical selves to truly keep up with, we overwhelm our own senses and at times tear ourselves apart, wear ourselves thin, and just have to stop.
Living fully, we cannot avoid any aspect of life, not even if it is hard, or unpleasant. There is a beauty to everything, even when things aren't pretty, and it is a choice and a habit to see it, to seek it. You must feel pain, as well as joy, experience the ache of darker things, as well as embrace the lighter life giving aspects.
Also, we must - we MUST - be kind to one another. Love as thou wilt, love as you will. In every sense of the term, and respect that freedom in others, whether you understand their love or way of loving, or not.
Forgive, as well, for things pass too quickly, too often are careless thoughts or actions made, innocents hurt, blame placed and burdened. Few people will not feel remorse when they cause pain to others, and we all need forgiveness at one point or another. Who are we to deny it to anyone, when one day anyone may need to forgive us?
Nothing is so beautiful and terrible sad as human folly and the cruelty it exacts sometimes. I am shamed and disheartened every time I witness it. All the moreso when it is my mistakes that cause such things, or when I witness it direct to a loved one.
Think. Live. Love. Be.
