Hello all. I wanted to write a blog that includes some bullet point facts as well as more in-depth things about myself.
- I am a 31-year-old gal born and raised in Oregon, USA but currently living in Suffolk, UK.
- I am 5'2 3/4 to be exact. Gemini for those that like that sorta thang though I take horoscopes very light-heartedly.
- Speaking of heart, mine is very open, soft, and tender. Most of my hobbies and careers focus on health, wellness, and whole-healing or encouraging such.
- I am an herbalist, videographer, and brand consultant but prior to those career paths, I was a dancer, cheerleader, tennis player, avid hiker, and barista trainer. Life has been fun thus far.
- I was diagnosed with Severe Crohns-Colitis when I was 23 and have battled it hard since. I have had a couple of years since my diagnosis of solid remission which has allowed me to live with complete abandon and gratitude. I have spent most of the past decade sick, bed-ridden at times, and suffering. However, despite the suffering, my disease gifted me a beautiful and previously untapped perspective on life. Prior to my illness, I was living for the approval of others, in fear, in shame, doing all I thought I was supposed to. After spending my first year in and out of the hospital and getting a sip of mortality I began unlearning and shedding all that did not serve my authentic self and my true passions. I am grateful for my life and the cards I've been delt even in the most trying moments.
- I am married with two dogs and plan on returning to the US in 2024.
- I previously renovated a 1950s classic travel trailer and lived in it near the Washington coast. Before that I homesteaded in the woods in a tiny 90s trailer and canvas bell-tent while working the land, mothering a wild chicken and running an apothecary out of my tiny space. Simple living is my favorite way to live and something I hope to return to when I move home.
- I find great pleasure in creating video vignettes and shorts. Ever since I was 17 I've been creating ethereal, thought-evoking, nature-focused video content on platforms such as Youtube, Vine, Tiktok, and Instagram as well as taking on professional projects for clients and businesses.
- I enjoy working with herbs so much and find it to be the most calming hobby I have. It brings me back to my playful inner child. I opened Earth Habit Apothecary in 2016 and ran it full-time selling my goods across the world and pop-up markets. My shop is on pause while I'm in Europe.
- I have always enjoyed artistic, abstract, and pin-up-esque photography and modeling, and a lot of my work focus on the human form within nature or a space where one feels at home and able to surrender to intimate expression.
