I sure wish this job had more security and better pay/benefits...and I didn't have to deal with customers. Then it'd be perfect.

After much research and contemplation I decided to go with a local photography supply place called Fotodiox. I got (2) 300ws strobes each with 36in shoot thru umbrellas, a 24x32 in softbox, a barndoor with gels, a 5 in 1 reflector, a 10x20 black muslin background, a wireless kit with 2 receivers and 1 hotshoe transmitter, and I went to Wolf Camera for a Polaris flash meter. I already had exercise/weightlifting type mats for the floor (to ease the discomfort for models lying on my hardwood floor) but since I shifted the studio 90 degrees I had to rearrange and cut them to fit. I also covered the walls on both sides with black velvet that I bought from Wal Mart. I left the ceiling white in case I wanted to bounce flash. I'm very pleased with the results. Moving from hot lights to strobe lights has completely moved my photography into a whole new level. The flash meter has become my new favorite tool and the Polaris flash meter although the least expensive meter by far does everything a comparable Sekonic meter does for half the price. I'll snap a pic soon and post it.
