RJD2 is amazing.
we saw him at the Independent last night; he played on 4 decks with no fucking headphones, and it was beautiful! Aceyalone was the other headliner, he was good and all but i guess I'm just not all that into him. I prefer slower rappers whose words you can actually hear better, although i do appreciate his considerable skills, and the crowd was nutty with delight. My friend Donavon is here visitting from Montana, I am trying to make sure that he is having a really good time because he has been v. unhappy lately and needs it. I want to see the sadnesws clear from his eyes just for a few days, and I want him to not have to live in Montana anymore. It is killing him. He is one of the few people I know who really shares and understands the feeling I have always had of carrying a profound sorrow inside you, not necessarily because of your life but more because the world is a tragically fucked up place and people are cruel and empty and everyone is alone in the end. Anyway.
Actually I have no idea where he is right now, I woke up and he was out, but I guess he'll be back eventually. We've been having a great weekend thus far, I have worn several really stupendous outfits and have just been staggering around having all kinds of fun.
Things are going sooooooo well with the boy, it is so good and feels so natural that I am a little freaked out. But happy, of course.
things I am excited about:
-Tahoe next weekend! hooray!
-AsiaSF tonight mmmmm drag queens and fancy desserts
-having money; though my paycheck is laughably small it is still money and I am spending it as quickly as I can
-feeling creative
-actually getting my work done, v. unlike me to be so motivated
-getting laid a lot these days
