I don't know if we know each other, but I happened to notice that you're friends with Al, dunx, KtKate, and Mei, and if you went to school with them, then you went to school with me, too. So maybe?

Guilt is for suckahs! Indulgence is the new path to enlightenment. We'll all be chubby little Buddhas.

Also, what Venice said. Small world.

tomorrow i'm going to run 14 miles!
scary.
then i'll probably take a nap, then i imagine i'll get wasted & go see gravy train!!!
yesss.
anything good planned for your weekend?
maybe me and ollie can make out again, too.
aaronsrod:
I can't believe that you are going to run 14 miles, I need to go and take a nap after reading that.

I will be helping my dad at the markets for about an hour to give him a break and then kicking back for the rest of the day.

Let me know how your run goes, but break it to me slowly so that I don't get scared eeek

i read this letter in Time today:

"Detainee 063 was never physically harmed. He put his health in peril with his refusal to eat and take fluids. His treatment should be put in the proper context. Prisoners at Guantnamo are fed meals that accord with their religious beliefs, they are given Korans and prayer rugs, and their health is monitored. Torture camp? Sounds more like...

I thought it might be that marathon. a friend of mine is training for it right now and wanted me to go with her. We're stationed in Monterey so its not really all that far away. I'm in SF now, is that where you live?

I also don't like the "war on terror" in the sense that it's a rediculous concept--"terror" is not something that can ever be destroyed. its an abstract concept like freedom and love. I wish they had had the cajones to just come out and call it a "war on militant islam". At least they could be clear on who the enemy is.

As far as gitmo goes I have mixed feelings. I know a number of actual interogators and I know why they're not supposed to do certain things but I also know they have an extremely extremely difficult job. The fact is, torture and humiliation sometimes works. If they didn't get results they wouldn't use it. At the same time its a well-known saying in those circles that if you have to resort to those means then the suspect has already won. Also if the enemy thinks he is going to be treated humainly when captured then he's more likely to just give up rather than fight. but if the enemy thinks he's going to be tortured he'll fight a lot harder. Theorhetically this BS at gitmo and that other big case last year in Iraq has/will cost American lives.
dave_h:
yeah I know what you're saying.

it sucks when your booty call loses his cellphone...

it sucks more when you don't have a booty call, and every once in a while you have to bang your cellphone against your knee or a wall until you can hear the people on the other end because there's something wrong with the speaker and you're too lazy/busy/stupid to get it fixed.
aficionado:
or worse, you have no one to call up for a booty call in the first place! such as, uhm, ME.

little known facts about me:
-i own every single stones album except the last one ('cause it sucks, duh)
-i hate it when people take bananas out of the skin to eat them. that's why they come in the skin, it's a natural holder! gross.
-i only shower when i'm actually really dirty or smelly (well sometimes not even then). i don't get why people...

Well, If they're pets then I can tolerate them, but wild mice? fuck no.

hmmm apparently only i can see my pictures. i feel so... secretive?
o well. there was a mosquito in my room last night. she bit me many times. there are few if any things more agonizing than being in a pitch black room at 4.30 am with an insect that makes a horrible noise and wants to drain your blood. so now i'm exhausted even...

i will never complain about anything ever again. my (ex)-boyfriend has had the absolute worst few months ever. about 6 months ago his dad was diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer. he probably has less than 6 months left to live. then yesterday he calls me to say that his brother got in an accident on a pocket bike (i HATE those things, they're so...

Eek; that does seem like one trial and tribulation after another. And I thought I've had it bad recently...not! In all seriousness, I think that religion serves little purpose in these circumstances except to provide foundation and faith. Then again, I may be wrong, since I'm not a religious person. But most religions don't believe in an interventionist god anymore. It's more like suffer now, and party on in the sky later! Jeez, does this sound a little caustic and bitter? Hope it gets better for your ex soon.
