i heard a friend recently say that she'd rather be late than early. when pressed for a reason she replied that she would rather people wait for her than to wait for anyone else. after initially feeling repulsed by her sense of self-importance i started to wonder how many people feel the same way. is this common? am i naive in thinking that only a small fraction of the population could feel this way about those around them? and if the answer is yes to both of these questions, how the hell did i become such a dupe?
