i hear the key in the door and my first reaction is to turn off my light. it might be time to move out.
davel:
that is a very short and sad story.
perdita:
I sort of know how you feel, but then again, I live with my parents so . . .

I'm not too worried about having to call my brother "Dr." mostly because he wants to be a writer, and I don't think he has any machinations for advanced degrees.

i couldn't sit through the film fest tonight. needed to be alone. couldn't sit still at home so i ventured back out to play pool. couldn't focus on pool so i went back home.

the first workday after returning from vacation is very confusing. i have energy to throw into projects but i get nothing out of completing them. i continually imagine myself a resident...

wow, i encountered so many sloopers walking home from the bus stop tonight. SF really is a lonely city full of lonely people.
davel:
what makes this city like that, do you think? it seems like it has so much potential not to be like that.

have you experienced tokyo?
they're so lonely and wretched i nearly cried for them.
aarong:
Clearly, everyone is in need of a field goal.

i drank some sugar-laced fruity drinks tonight. ugh, stomach did not enjoy. and now at home i get to listen to the soothing sounds of my roommates poker game. i just do not understand the current obsession with hold em. why doesn't anyone play spades or hearts or 45s anymore? sure they aren't sexy but they are, to me at least, much more fun.

i...

more books. more more more. could this be an obsession? wanting to fill every spare moment emersed in an alternate reality?

perhaps i am focusing on books in order to circumvent my need and desire for an intimate relationship.

or perhaps i, as a single 30 year old man, understand and accept that i am too picky.

or perhaps i am afraid to put myself...

i'm not reading a damn thing, however,

or perhaps i, as a single 30 year old man, understand and accept that i am too picky.

*shrug*
i'm old and picky, that's for damn sure.

maybe if you read in coffeeshops you'll have your pick of women.

Hey look! Another update noone will ever read. How ingenious.
davel:
Neither does Santa. His hard drive bit it the other day and his naughtyornice.xls file got corrupted.
NOW WHAT?!

so im avoiding the baroque cycle. i have been waiting to start it for quite some time but now that they are in my hands, i can't begin.

so instead of tackling them i started a ross macdonald book entitled 'the galton case'. this is the first time i am reading macdonald. the strangest thing is that i saw 2 people reading the same book...

todays new word: slooper.

a slooper is the sleazy guy that sits on his front steps at closing time just down the street from the local bar waiting to talk to drunk girls that walk past. you will recognize the slooper by the constant cigarette between his fingertips. this is because the vast, vast majority of people that would stop to talk to a slooper...

The big stack of books has arrived. I'm currently plowing through the most recent Richard Morgan sci-fi at breakneck speed. Also I have measured the last remaining space in my room that will fit a bookshelf. I think I will need someone to make it for me since its an odd width. Is that usually expensive?

i like baseball. went to my first game of the season tonight and saw the giants win in the bottom of the ninth on a homerun. exciting, no?

i am currently waiting for amazon to deliver the huge stack of books i ordered this week. in the meantime i have to go to the bookshelf and pick something i have already read. yes yes i...
