Man I had a fucking day today....worked a 12 hour hospice shift with a client who is breaths away from death....zombie like with all of the drugs they are pumping into him to keep him comfortable. Not my first hospice client but I never get used to it....these shifts are an emotional drain. I think it's part of where the darker side of my art...

As I mentioned in my last update, one of the clients I take care of likes listening to music when we're working together (I'm a CNA/nursing student working in home care). He just turned 90 and is VERY conservative. I play him everything from Big Band and Swing stuff to hip hop to indie rock. I've decided to post what we listen to each night,...

Man I can't get enough of this album!

Without going in to too much detail, I take care of old peoples for a living. I play music for them via my iPod sound dock on the regular. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of my 90 year old client's new favorite bands *l* how fucking cute is that?

Man I had a fucking great day today...celebrated my very good friend Yakub's birthday with hipster bowling at the AMF Imperial in the South End followed by dinner and drinks at the Bourbon Bar in Columbia City, and then the most intimate songs sang by some of the best songwriters you've never heard of and should...I love Seattle, my friends, and summertime....

And now I'm...

My dad is so good he could be pro. He gave lessons when I was growing up and he aways tried to show me how to bowl properly. Until I got my fingers stuck in a ball once and about broke my arm....and said never again hahaha. My love for being a pro bowler didnt last long as you can probably imagine!
sooaap:
Haha thats funny...I grew up in a bowling alley (small town, wasn't much else) and bowled in leagues for several years...but you couldn't tell by the way I bowled Monday wink I do envision myself joining a league again when I get to be about 50, bowling shirt, hand brace, Rainier tall cans, the whole 9 *l*

dude. i am in love with your art!!

oh yeah pliny rocks too... have you tried kearn river brewings just outstanding ipa? you may like that one too!
sooaap:
No I haven't tried Outstanding...will have to see if they carry it at my little beer heaven. I have to admit last night was the first time I've tried the Pliny...it was delicious but I need more bitter...my mainstay is Bridgeport's Hop Czar, just because of its IBU ratio to economic attainability smile And I'm going to beer nerd out on you and say my favorite three IPAs (in no particular order) are HUB's Ace of Spades Imperial IPA, Great Divide's Hercules Double IPA, and Deschute's Hop Henge IPA. All three are as delicious out of the bottle as they are off the tap. So take that.

This new Chili Peppers album is legit...been listening to it non-stop since I got it last week. It makes me sooooooo happy...I kind of thought they might call it quits after Frusciante bowed out. If you don't have it yet, go get it!

This is one of my very best friends, Jake Hemming of Big Sur. He's playing the song "These Things I'm Thinkin," in the bathroom of the old Green Frog Tavern, Bellingham, WA.
Love you Jake.
