Or - try to follow the same pattern EVERY night - train yourself to sleep. It worked for me for along time

You have to be patient with either of those, tho, neither is a quick fix.

AFA the girl thing? yaknow, I'm twice your age and I STILL get all fumble-mouthed whena pretty girl says something nice to me. 
I have to pause for a second, get my bearings, figure out what to say (usually starting with thanks) and then say it, slowly
