Ok... I am moving off base the first of July. In the process of looking for a place on Roomates.com, and CraigsList... I ran across this very, very odd room for rent.
Prof BiNSWM. College English teacher to US & foreign adults. Divorced, no children. I'm an egg and fish eating vegetarian (but I eat anything that is served when with others and say nothing). People take me for much younger. World trvld. Speak Eng/Fr/Grmn/Sp/Arabic/Am. Deaf Sign. Enjoy all races, nationalities, etc. Laid back. Seeking QUIET, CLEAN, laid back, non-smoking, MALE ONLY (NO WOMEN!!!), not fat or old, to share LARGE furn'd STUDIO (I WILL NOT consider sharing with a female. Sorry, ladies.) w/3 closets, 8 outlets, new appliances: Columbia Hts., DC. $335 mo.(=1/2.)+ 1/2 of monthly home phone and DSL(=about $35.). Utils. included. Night-by-night use of apt. okay in emergency or for a short stay for a prorated $12.00 a night [share my double bed futon-I sleep very still- OR I have a sleeping bag for floor.] I do sleep nude to sleep soundly(as do many), with a robe usually thrown over my middle--unless it's really hot, and I walk around in the nude first thing in the morning and late at night, and would be embarrassed being the only one to do so, but I am NOT looking for sex (though I can,perhaps, oblige sometimes with some head that has been called "bomb," but I am not looking for that and will never be the aggressor). Also, if one of us has to urinate at the same time the other is shaving, showering, etc., he MUST have bathroom access to do so!--no different than a public gym, swimming pool, etc. So, no sex, but, also, absolutely NO PRUDERY! Also, I MUST be permitted a sound night's sleep (that's very important--though cuddling or touch does not disturb my sleep) and quarantee you the same. I must get up some mornings at 5 a.m. to be to work on time (5 days a week over the summer), so I am in bed by 10 p.m. at the very latest the night before. Bus at door to center of D.C.(L'Enfant Plaza), & bus 2 blocks away to downtown Sil.Sp one way; White House, the other. The GA Ave. Greenline metro (and the bus down Georgia ave. to Howard Univ. & into Chinatown and beyond or to Sil. Spring the other way) is 5 1/2 blocks (1 station from Fort Totten Redline);Col. Hts. metro 8 blocks. CVS, Giant, Safeway, etc. in walking distance. Offstreet parking lot for residents. I like all animals, but bldg. doesn't allow pets. WILLING TO MOVE TO A LARGER APT. W/A GOOD & PERMANENT PERSON. I do not like ELEC.light 1st thing mornings - nor LOUD music/TV anytime.[I love music (oldies, film scores, int'l. folk) & TV,& have a large keyboard-- just not loud.] Love DAYlight, firelight, candlelight anytime. I HATE being forced to hear foul language or any title or name of God used as a swear word/exclamation. I use no coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco, non-prescription drugs. I don't care if you use coffee, tea, alcohol. I am very considerate and thoughtful. You,too,must be honest & considerate, not arrogant, pushy/self-centered. (I do like intelligent and interesting conversation.) Since I do not turn lights on more than necessary, you would have no problem sleeping around your work/study hours. I am very quiet. Building has thick walls & is very quiet, too. I believe in compromise and adjusting to each other(=each adjusting 1/2 way, no one adjusting 100%).
