the most depressing thing (aside from war, poverty, racism, rape, murder, starvation, hiv/aids, divorce, the religious right's bastardization of jesus, homophobia, globalization, george bush and the rest of the republicans, and on and on...) is that every time I buy a new record, or see a band play live, I know that that will never be me, at least singing.

now, I played the drums before I moved here, and one day hope to do so again, but that is different.

and sure... you don't really have to be able to sing, in the classic sense.

bob dylan, can't sing
joey ramone, couldn't sing
kurt cobain, couldn't sing
stiv bators, couldn't sing
layne staley, couldn't sing
spencer moody, can't sing

you get my drift...

all the above mentioned singers, were famous in their own right (not nessicarly in the *fame* sense of famous, but you know what I mean)

the main difference between me and them... they had something to fucking say.

I suppose I could come up with things to say, but outside of talking about music or politics, I don't know what else to say. That goes for all aspects of my life. Hence one of the reaons my social life is so fucked.

Oh well.
