Yes! Blue-Eyed Devil is being published! We got approval from the collective and it'll be out probably in the fall. I'm doing the first proofread and Erika is doing the second. It's a fucking amazing book, a travelogue of sorts; the story of Mike Knight traveling across the country looking for a true "American Islam" ... it works as a history of black nationalism, and Islam in America and it has so many beautiful touching moments. Mike's such an awesome writer (See: The Taqwacores or his articles on muslimwakeup.org.

In other news, I now have Tuesday mornings off so I can work on the manu. for Fast Feminisms which is good, but driving me insane (it's just so ... badly written .... too many footnotes and repetitions). Also, I just finished my math class for uni. so i'm one step closer to graduating, now all i've to do is convince the horrid wench that 'taught' my science class to accept late material from me and finish my thesis. My adviser just came out with a new book which looks brilliant, as are his other books. It's the CUP published Deleuze: An Introduction - get it, he's rad and deserves to be read much more than he is.

And trust me, the only reason I'm updating with any substance is that Iggy is hanging out with friends and I'm bored and slightly 'buzzed'.

Anyone seen any good movies lately? Broken Flowers sucked, as I sort of expected. Jarmusch sort of blows. Invented 'indie' movies my ass ...
