Its a beautiful day in Indianapolis. Looking out the window from here, I see the top of a tree, the slowly browning yellow of tall grass on a hill that leads to the metal highway rail, traffic moving by, an occasional semi, the Bank One building, the Riley towers, and sky.

All of it looking permanent as permanent can be.

It's the little things that can make life great sometimes, isn't it?
kalidoom:
I'll definitely be at the Burlesque show. Make sure you get there early to enjoy the Sluts of Trust, as they are awesome.

Saturday night has officially started. The grill has been fired up. The mix cd from this months Believer is in the stereo. And yes, yes the beer is in the fridge.

Hope all you lovely little demons have wonderful weekends.

i started reading the mark leyner one, but so far i'm not feeling it. the other book i've read of his was short stories, but totally disjointed and not typical "stories" with plot and everything. i don't know how well he's doing at putting together a real story...or maybe i just don't like the main character, which is losely based on himself at 13. he's just an ass, but i guess that's the point. i'll probably stick with it...heh, since i'm only on about pg 5 smile but now i think the phillip k. dick book would be more interesting

The Merriam Webster word of the day is:

mansuetude \MAN-swih-tood\ noun

: the quality or state of being gentle : meekness, tameness

Try and use that in a sentence.

swoo:
Yeah, hopefully that teaches him what you get trying to ride the pine to a championship ring.

Kittens handled gently when they are small, readily become affectionate pets. Not so feral cats. I have two feral cats that I have fed often enough that they invite my stroking them. But I would risk painful scratches if I tried to pick them up.
Their mansuetude is limited.

gingergayle:
my mansuetude is non-existant when dealing with the opposite sex sometimes.

that was very cool, how did i do?

i agree about the state-helmet law. nice to meet a fellow hoosier. biggrin

It is raining hard and the traffic is moving slowly, with the city backdrop in a white-gray veil. This is a nice break from the heat; a storm that threatens to turn the lights off.

I should be designing a flyer for a friends DJ night, but I am feeling lazy watching the rain.

I need motivation. Or distraction. How about distraction.

Random stumblers of...

I am originally from "the region" as well.

For somebody else to understand
Years go by if I'm stripped of my beauty
And the orange clouds raining in my head
Years go by will I choke on my tears

I had a great weekend. I got too drunk on Saturday; thanks to my roommate and free drinks.

I am very happy now. Sunday night. Pistons won. In the dark listening to Sufjan Stevens. Drinking Corona. Waiting for friends to come over.

Yes, very nice.

I have been sleeping better. Getting out of bed and having full days.

Yes, yes, yes. What else?

If you...

Listening to my iTunes on random, and drinking Oranjeboom. I have discovered my iTunes likes Neil Young and Modest Mouse; plays more of them than anything else.
