Okay, look. Here are my thoughts on the matter. Yes, I know nobody asked for them.
When Bush took office, there was a budget surplus, a halfway decent economy, relatively small skirmishes around the globe, and strained relations with allies. Let's be fair about this. We can't blame Bush for the economy, necessarily. It comes and it goes. And we can't blame him for September 11th, although you can question how much the administration knew about it. But still, today we are in a war without end in sight, there is talk of restarting the draft, there is talk of a Constitutional fucking amendment against gay marriage (which is the exact OPPOSITE of conservative), our foreign relations, AFTER the first major terrorist attack on our soil, are actually somehow worse than they've ever been. This is not good work. This is not something you reward someone for. This sucks.
