As I begin the walk to the doorway of the blind I paused with a shuddering spine and a brief sense of satisfaction. The phone rang and I knew who it was cause nobody else calls at 7am. The dreary wind of a lower existance lifts from my trodden head of wounds and once upon a times long enough to collect her voice and write the entirety of this day in a column without regrets. Its always good when she sends her nepenthe through the coils of a phone cord. Like a message from the god fairies saying theres no reason to bring the worries outside today cause everything will be allright. Like saying shes safe today. Like saying Im safe today.
As I placed the phone back to its resting stool I held a slight smile and half closed eye lids, gave a breath to the sky and placed the next step over the last without even knowing where I was walking. It didnt matter cause I knew it was all going to be allright.
I probably should have called her back later like I said I would.
