It's been almost a month since i moved into my new place. Still moving bits and pieces in and sorting out where to put things. I need more bookshelves (or less books) and I'm hoping to get back into doing some woodwork and make a few more. Mum bought me a chest full of old carpentry tools for my birthday which i'm thinking of using. It would take far longer and be much harder than using electric tools but maybe it will be fun and give me a sense of what it was like building stuff 100 years ago.
I've made some new friends in the 'Gong and my social network is gradually expanding, both online and offline, and it's good for me. Like my dad says, I always need plenty of convivial company to be happy. Although, i also need to sometimes spend time completely by myself so I can do absolutely what I want without worrying what other people might think. I remember one night I got down on the carpet and started building a fort with books and crates and stuff as if I was 4 years old. I was amazed at how much fun i had.
I've got a friend staying with me at the moment and I've been thinking about whether to invite him to stay as a housemate because he's looking for a place to live. I decided to give it a try for a few weeks to see how it would be to have a housemate. There would be benefits - it's been good having company around and i'd have a bit more money to save - but i think i've come to the decision that I need to be on my own for a while. I need to have the option of just spending time by myself and not having to consider anyone else - and i wouldnt have this if i had a housemate.
