Thought for the day:
Why I like Star Trek... This could make me a dork, and I truly think I am, but my reasoning is in fact dork-exempt... Star Trek portrays humans as a generous race, a people who are interested in attaining knowledge, not wealth, a people who work to better themselves and humanity. At the risk of sounding like some goth-hippie cross breed, I really like this idea. I see in Trek what we COULD be, if we, as a race, could just get our collective heads out of our asses. But you know what's even better? Star Trek, the Next Generation was at one point the most watched television show in America. I take this as a sign that we like ourselves portrayed as such. I like to think that it's so popular because we see in it what we may become, and we aspire to it.
Wishful thinking? I don't know... I like to think not. But maybe that's wishful thinking too.

I think they already tried that "Noble Experiment" in the USSR and it didn't work. Alas, we're stuck in this greed driven hell hole. Eh...could be worse.
solimond:
It didn't work cause we weren't ready... Don't blame the system. People fouled it up...
