Thought for the day: Cults... Why do some movies inspire cult followings while others are quickly forgoten? I went and saw a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at a local theatre last night (not for the first time), and it's truly amazing all the work that goes into it. I highly recomend the Rocky experience for anyone who hasn't lost their chery yet. Still, no cult, late night showings of Ishtar, or Cyborg 2 (Angelina Jolie's first movie, by the way), or Plan 9 from Outerspace. Sure, it could be the enduring... something or other of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but other, similarly bad films have inspired similar followings, if not to such a degree. I guess there are certain good-bad qualities that just have to be present...
jamy:
isn't 'cult' just a term used to throw videos in a category at the local blockbuster?

I used to work at Blockbuster... does that mean I can use the term "cult?"
