Thought for the day:
I feel sadness for the children of today. Not because of the current state of affairs in this country, though that is a concern. No, I think of the current state of afternoon cartoons, and rememer how good we had it (that's we: between the ages of 22 - 30). I mean, we had the greats... Remember that block? Thundercats, then Transformers (my personal fav), then GI Joe. Now we have Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and the like. Even though I do kind of like Pokemon, it really doesn't measure up to what we had... Sad really.
I don't feel that I can safely say this without mentioning the good cartoons that we've had lately. Firstly, the WB/DC stuff such as Batman, Superman, and Batman Beyond. In addition, the cartoon network is doing some good stuff... Dexter's Labratory, Powerpuff Girls to name the best. Even so... I weep for the youth of today...

And haha, I know, so many cartoons these days seem like fluff. It's all anime-y and strangely sexual. Or maybe that's just me. I don't think I was part of the "testosterone-filled action cartoon" generation though. I preferred like... Inspector Gadget and Gnomes and stuff.
