We just got back from Germany yesterday. I am still knackered but boy did we have a good time! Cologne, Berlin and Aachen in 5 non stop whizzing about beer drinking days. We even caught up with the lovely CuriousTomcat for a coffee or two.
Taffboy hates clowns. HATES HATES HATES and FEARS them. However in Nordrhein-Westfalen, which is where we were for 3 days of our hols, everyone everywhere is gearing up for Karneval. That means CLOWNS. Every store display and shop window. Every bakery and sweetie shop. There were even some on the train back from Aachen. The finishing touch was when we went to the hotel for our last night in a corner of Cologne called Holwieder. The walls of the bar and restaurant were just COVERED IN CLOWNS. I could not stop laughing the whole time while Taffboy scowled and said dark things about re-education camps for all street theatre entertainers.
It's very likely that I will lose my job soon. Am I sad? Am I hell.
