Morgan's journal made me think about how many people are taking antidepressants including me and why we seem to need them so much. Could it be our materialistic sexualized culture has not found the promised satisfaction it hoped for?
It is just a week after the election and I find it amazing how many of my very anti Bush colleagues have adapted to the grim and gloomy prospect of FOUR MORE YEARS and a middle eastern Vietnam. I felt somewhat better after reading Michael Moore's 17 reason's not to slit your wrists.

This war is no good. Our current political choices are virtually non-existent. I complain but yet take no action except ot contribute to the Kerry campaign and have just moved into a beautiful house my wife and I designed and built.

The Dem convention is is Boston and I wonder why the city fought so hard to get such rubberstamp production of embarrassing American politics/consumerism. The police and fire unions used the convention to leverage new contracts to avert strikes and picket lines which would have been difficult for the Dem delegates to cross.

Politics, sex, war. How can people get so riled up about sex and gay marriage when the world is sooo fucked up? 
Sunday I played a benefit for some friends in Provincetown, saw the TV trucks parked outside Town Hall waiting to cover the first historic gay marriages on Monday. Cambridge actually began issuing marriage licenses at 12:01 May 17, the date declared by the State Supreme Court.
The media coverage was positive and front pages showed gay couples KISSING.

Thanks for the advice sweatheart. It's not easy right now and the depression does not seem to be lifting. I am on anti-depressants but this depression will just take some time. I have to be patient and say the serenity prayer over and over and over.

On Monday our great state of Massachussetts will allow same sex marriages and honor them as the real, formerly only hetero, thing. I live near Provincetown where they are anticipating a veritable flurry of ceremonies. Yay for those gay who want to marry!
