so Life Aquatic is great, more so for those who are already Wes Anderson fans. it's quirky and emotionally impressionist like all his films; he works with a peculiar visual and narrative language unique to him. it's no rushmore - nothing ever will be that note-perfect. but it's slowly transcendental, a lot like bottle rocket. i know he's Disney now and getting the big corporate push but i can't see just anybody - you know, like your mom or dad - falling in love with this movie. strictly for the 'hood, so to speak.
