ps it also helps to respond to a person on their blog so they know you actually responded ... plus if they have a lot of friends and you post witty things you might attract more attention that way also.

I don't remember which group I read it in, but I believe it was stickied, that people who are annoyed by the Hopeful friending frenzy will always mark the set "not for me" simply out of annoyance. I could understand that resentment from especially high profile members. It's not something I do, but it is something that can happen. I've voted on probably a hundred sets by now (usually two or three while on the stationary bike at my gym) and none of them needed advertisement to get me to look at them. The people that want to vote on member review sets will.
