Well, damn. Is everyone on holiday, or are they so sure the world's ending they've given up posting?
North Korea detonates a gadget, and look at the CE boards: 2 (count 'em, two) threads, total of five pages.
As far as I can tell, nobody except me even noticed this hot little number: serious nanotech.
Between them, that's the biggest day of news since...

Dammit, I haven't the time.

now you should compare it to a brisk fall day that of autum turning and leaves falling. That way you'll have time to stop and watch the foilage.
When I run out of space, I'll change it. Till then it will have to stay.

I bought the bleeding edge for too long and am now going back to buy the toys of my youth that I couldn't afford then but lusted for.
Well that was evidently too depressing.
Meanwhile, I have tried and failed to find a set that went up in August. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I blame it on this crap site design. Grrr.

Not so much depressing, but what could one such as me offer? Most of my posts revolve around bitter observations, sarcasm or wordplay. You didn't leave the door open for me.
They should be there... Pics at the top, and it should display in date order. The fact that you don't seem to know the girls name isn't helping.
I hadn't forgotten you at all.

No it wasn't depressing...in fact it was a little inspiring. Goood for you I say. As far as looking for a set...try going to "girls" then looking under the "chronloniclay" part That may help you find your new crush. heheh. or even if you just know one letter of her name you can type it in in the search bar. and it brings up all the SG;s with that letter name. But you best bet is the chronilogically. So heres to hoping you find her.

Let's hope South Park includes him in an upcoming film at least. Chile is such a beautiful country, and even more so after this bit of karmic goodness - anyone for a public stoning?

I'm not really worried about the job really. It's just funny to me that I bothered with a college education when all jobs requiring said college education make me want to vomit.

pygmy:
well, it's good to see you back!
i figured: 1- you're from the uk 2- your in the world music, hirsute and futurism groups 3- it says you joined in july, but right away you had a bunch of the smartest members listed up at the top of your page, and how would you know all the cool kids were if you just joined?
4- i think i remembered your favorite sgs 5-you're obviously still frustrated the design, which is why you left to begin with.
or it was just a lucky guess

OK, two things here:
1 - I'm back.
I was offline from 22nd to 29th.
2 - if you're part of a business that uses its vehicles to advertise (contact details on its trucks, etc.), could I ask you ever so politely to point out to your advertising/PR people that assholes driving your trucks do not create a good impression? Yes? Good. kthxbye

I've never quite understood the advertising on vehicles thing. I certainly can't imagine that any of my consumer decisions have ever been influenced by anything I see on the side of a truck. Hope you are making the best of your time offline.

Hmm, interesting comment! Concur on the advertising... As for the songs I'm buying into the idea of not worrying about the quality, just the quantity. Then pick the winners...
Recent reading: David Keys, Catastrophe, 1999. About the shaping of the modern world, by plague and drought and mass migration, triggered by climate change in the sixth century. I think he might be trying too hard, but it's well worth a look. Some useful reminders about the beginnings and rise of Islam, about the 10th-century Jewish empire in the Caucasus, and about the world...

That book has just gone on my Amazon wish list*.
I'm back, give or take Reading Festival this weekend.
The picture in the last post several weeks ago is Cattawade btw.
*until the paperback comes out. Sounds a happy book! Overall we as a society have been rather fortunate over the past few hundred years comapred to the degree of climate swings that have effected past human societys. World over population and future climate change will be very unpretty.

The list helps ration all the books I actually buy Vs the amount I like. I take ages and ages to read books, as I'm always diverted by other things in life.
I worry too much.
Probably.
Actually, I worry that I'm not worried enough.

I think it was Dante or someone who said that the hottest spots in hell are reserved only for those who stay neutral once they're informed. Not that I believe in any kind of hell or nothing... but worrying isn't necessary a bad thing, just means you give a shit. Unless it's taking overy your life... if that's the case I highly recommend go karting
