Okay; it's clear to anyone who keeps their ears open that we need to do some pretty radical restructuring of our economies and the way we do stuff. The cost of fuel is going to trend steadily upwards (and with it the cost of food); climate change is going to be an increasing influence on everything we do.

after you referring to patterns that come up everywhere the other day, I decided to have another crack at reading this. the first time I tried it, I got a bit bogged down and stopped reading, though I was far enough into it that I couldn't just pick up where I left off. so I'm back at the start - here's hoping I get a bit further this time!
