So this post was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend on the way to a movie. We got on the topic of pinups, which I love. Her opinion is that they're not good because all they do is sexualize women, because they're created 'for men'. I can see her point... to a point, but I can't fully agree with it.
Yes there's definitely a sexual element to it, but I still see them as works of art and beauty. I know that some men would want them simply for the sexiness. My view is that as long as the woman who is the subject of the photos wants to do it that's more power to her. Who am I to tell some to take or not to take a certain type of photo. I can give my personal opinion on the shoot and the results, but that's it.
Seeing as this site is very fond of pinups, I was wondering what the thoughts of people on this site might be on this subject. Let me know :)
