Well things are finally back to normal around here. Selling our house (I was the the listing agent) was a crazy time. Thankfully, it all went pretty normal. Just nerve racking when it is your own house, you are always waiting for a problem to come up.
The good news is it is all over and we are just about settled in to our new house. It is bigger than our old house so we have a little more room. We actually have 6 bedrooms now. We have two extra rooms and Jinxi is planning on making one into a skeeball/game room and the other is going to be her girlfriends room. Needless to say, she will have fun decorating both of those rooms...skeeball and girls are her two favorite subjects. She loves strip skeeball... well actually, we both do.
Well thanks to the State of California I had to break down and get glasses. I have not worn any glasses or contacts for probably 10 years. It was getting so hard to see street signs, the TV and my computer. My drivers license expired a few weeks ago and I could not pass the eye exam, so I had to get a new pair of glasses. I have been wanting to get them for awhile, but I have been too busy (well actually just lazy, I have plenty of time to go, just kept putting it off). Here are a few pics of me in my new glasses.
Jinxi and I took the kiddos to stay down at Disneyland for 3 days. We stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel. It is so nice and is directly next to the California Adventure. Even has its own gate to enter the park from the Hotel. The kids spent plenty of time in the pool and on the pool slide. That was ok with Jinxi and I because we could just sit back and drink beer while they swam. We had a great time with the kids.
It was kind of funny because it was the first time that our daughter realized that people were staring at us. She was starting to talk back to the uptight assholes that give us dirty looks. Between all of my tattoos, Coop shirts, Jinxis tattoos, her shaved purple head and our 8 year olds sons 6 inch mohawk we seem to offend in every way. Oh well, we love that song "Offend In Every way". The best part is that our kids actually called us VCP's. We asked what that meant. Our daughter told us "Very Cool Parents." That just felt so good to hear from your kids. If I can raise three well-adjusted, open minded, happy kids then I will have done my job as a dad.
I feel so bad for some of the kids we see everyday. You know a parent is doing something wrong when a kid at age 9 gives you a dirty look because you are different than them. Kids learn that crap from their parents. I am amazed every time I see a kid grab the arm of one of his/her parents and tell them about the weird family in line behind them. Sometimes, I want to take the stick out of their asses and beat their parents with it (since they are the ones to blame for it being there in the first place).
Here is a picture of us at Disneyland.
Sorry it has been so long since I updated. I promise to be better about it now that we are setteled into our new house.
