So, been a while since I posted my last blog. ain't one for posting blogs anyway, but I see it as a way for people to better get to know me as a person.
So last time we were in Kumport Turkey.
Since then we've been to Nea Moudania (Greece), Constanta (Romania) and Derince (turkey).
Lets start with the first and most amazing of the three, Greece.
After we left Kumport, it took us about 24 hours to get to Greece. damn strong winds when we arrived. waves crashing over the pier were went alongside. took us 2 hours and 6 mooring lines to get the ship in a good position and safely secured were it normally takes 30 to 45 minutes.
started loading magnesium. both in bulk and in big bags. (see photo)
after the first day we loaded 133 bigbags in aft hold. I tallied them all. by hand. easy job. and when the wind calmed, and the sun started shining, it was actually kind of an luxurious jop.
in the evening the Ukrainians (captain, Co and Ce) and me went into the town. went to go eat somewhere. I ordered a schnitzel with some souse. it was very good. also got dessert on the house. damn, don't know what it was, but it was so damn tasty 8D
next day we started working at 0800 local time, me again counting big bags. good weather, but besides that pretty boring day, Tallying bags till 1500. then they were finished. total count was 570 bags in aft hold. my working day was pretty much done after that. loading of bulk was still continuing though. At 1700 local time the working day was over. We closed hatch covers, and went eating, and resting.
Next day I was ordered to go into the city. That was cool and unexpected, Especially because CO said to me earlier that I could not go into the city.
Orders were to go buy flipflops for CE and myself. and buy a Greek themed souvenir for CO.
Hiched a ride with the ships agent into the town center. first ting I did was go to a cherch thing. think it was a jew cherch, but I'm not sure. it was very beautiful though. (also see pictures)
Well, couldn't find any flipflops. did but myself and CO some souvenirs. also bought something for my mom.
Not much after that. returned to the ship at around 1100 local, and they were far from done with loading th bulk.
did not have a lot to do though. at around 1700 local they finished loading, and about two hours after that, we were on open seas again heading for Constanta, Romania.
Journey to Constanta was not so interesting. In fact, I already forgot all about it :')
Took about... two days. And also it was a very short visit.
arrived at 1000 board time (+1UTC) at pilot station, 1130 alongside, 1300 started loading, 1400 don loading and lashing and 1600 gone again. heading for Derince Turkey.

Ow BTW, Istanbul straight is pretty amazing though. passed it 3 times now :)
Before we could go alongside in Derince, we had to stay for anchor for 3 days O_o 3 boring days of cleaning the ship, and prepareing it for annual survey. (My laptop almost auto corrected "anual" to "anal" instead of "annual" O_o).
Entered Derince at a Friday evening, and started loading immediately. Finished loading and lashing 3 pieces at 2200. and went underway at 0000 (board time).

So today is my birthday. First time in 21 years I am not at home on my birthday, Christmas or new years.
Though for my birthday I haven't had any visitors for the last 10 years or so. everyone is to busy with Christmas. A well. only turning 21 tomorrow.
(in pirate voice) and damn we been roll'n like a barrel o rum down the stairs and waves crash'n over deck like....well, somethin else pitaty :')
seriously no idea what to talk about more, so I'll leave it at this.
BTW people, If you want to know more about me, I could write about myself in my next blog. Or if anyone has some other requests, also pleas do tell. Getting a little bored of this posing about my internship :P
Ow now I get to think of it, Don't know If I already told, But I helped Disassemble, clean and reassemble the heavy fuel separator. and it was awesome :3
