It's the obligatory 2 months (almost) so I thought I'd best write something on here.
All booked up to go to Barcelona in September and looking forward to that. Really is changed days for me as in the past I would probably have been sick at the very thought of travelling abroad. So, been saving up for that and money has been a little tight as a result. Grr.
Had a couple of gigs with the band since the last blog. Barfly and Sleazies have been blessed with the rock of Southpaw. Barfly was pretty good. We played upstairs and it was the first gig in a while I hadn't got myself nervous beforehand. Only problem was we were yet again put on with a bunch of bands who obviously only listen to 'britpop' style music. Meaning, we were the odd band out yet again. Sleazies was awful. Terrible equipment meant a terrible sound on stage. Our drummer was chasing the kit all over the stage, we eventually had to surround it with bricks so it didn't run off up the stairs for a cigarette.
Got a gig coming up downstairs at barfly on 27 July. Should be good. We're trying to get a bunch of new songs on the go so we'll see how that plays out over the next few weeks. Just getting tiring playing the same songs over and over.
Apart from that, not been up to much.

it doesn't seem to have been the *only* reason, but the last straw was the publication of a set be one nazi-sympathising girl that portrayed her as a very young girl being drugged, carried off, raped by an SS Officer and left for dead... but then jumping up all sexy like nothing happened. needless to say there was a bit of an uproar around this particular anti-semitic, kiddy-rape-glorifying set.
the set was taken down, the girl was archived, but the whole thing had shown up a lot of really sick bastards who are members here. being associated with them and the site after the whole thing seems to have been too much for a lot of people.
