Wow, I haven't written a journal in a month. I think that's my longest break yet. In fact, I've hardly been on the site at all recently. And when I do, I tend not to look at the sets anymore - it's straight into the groups for a quick peek then off again. I believe it even crossed my mind today that I should give up my membership in December when I'm due for renewal.

We shall see, but I'm pretty sure I'll remain around here. Even though I don't know anyone personally there's still certain folks I like checking in on from time to time.

Nothing much has been happening in the last month. I've been watching an incredible amount of

I think I've gone through 2 and a half seasons in a month. I never watched it on TV and was only recently told by someone that it was good so I thought I'd give it a bash. And believe me, when I get started on a TV box-set - I just keep motoring until it's all over. Just ask my Millennium, X-Files, 24, Firefly, Twin peaks etc etc box-sets. Played to death!

Anyway, Alias is addictive rubbish. That's how I'll class it. Plot-hole tastic addictive pap.

On the band front, a singer may have been unearthed. Was in the process of winning the Rufus T Firefly pub quiz a couple of weeks back and a guy I hadn't seen in ages mentioned that his friend was a great singer. He'd never been in a band but did the Commitments songs really well on karaoke. Usually this would terrify me, but when you're as desperate as we are you give anything a go. So, he came in and we arranged to do a couple of covers for him and he just launched himself right into it and thoroughly impressed us. By the end of the night he had also learned a song that I taught him and was bellowing it FAR better than our previous singer and he had written lyrics to 2 other tunes. He also seems to have a fair bit of character about him so I'm really hopeful this is going to work out and for the first time in ages I'm looking forward to rehearsing and trying to get a gig or two arranged.

I wish I had more to report but everything is just swimming along nicely for now.

I don't know much myself really, but my dream is to blend the jangle of a telecaster with the crunch of a les paul, so the custom tele with humbuckers will hopefully have the perfect jangle/crunch ratio. These are all technical terms I'm sure.

Yeah, it was a magic result - my dad said that's the best he seen Celtic play in Europe since our hey-days of the late 60s / early 70s, so you can't say fairer than that !! Just as long as they don't do to us what we did to them...
