I have been thinking about this for some time now, and I can't work out whose emotional reaction was the most valid.

Case in point: Jay discovers that Dawn has been sleeping with someone who is not Jay via the medium of Dawn's diary. Goes mental, punches the wall, storms around the living room interrogating housemates and general making a nuisance of himself.

Alternative scenario: I discover that <whoever> has been cheating on me. I die a little inside, replace the book, and leave without telling anyone about it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that Jay was angry, even violently so. And I understand that I am supposed to understand, because people are supposed to take other people into consideration. But in this case, why didn't it occur to Jay to keep private pain, well, private? Why didn't he respect that fact that we all have lives going on, that Rachel was having a goodbye breakfast with her boyfriend, that it was my birthday?

This sort of thing happens to me a lot.

Yep, i'm a right little rebel. Those pesky jelly babies don't scare me. Rah! \m/ smile

So, where have you been and what happened to taking pics of food?

In answer to your conundrum I don't think bottling it up inside is necessarily a good thing. It is certainly a better proposition than losing your rag and smashing the place up, but ultimately if you just leave without confronting the offending individual then they will take it as read that they can do it again and again to their next girlfriends without truely understanding the consequences. M'lud.

Anyway, let's talk about sandwiches.....
