well, I went to see my best friend in the hospital last night. He is now in the rehab unit. he actually said 'Hey' when I walked in the door, which, if you know the situation, is completely amazing. he still has a feeding tube for a few days, but he should be eating solid food very soon. He is talking alot and mostly talking about how he wants to get out of there 'Hand me my shoes', unhook me from this thing so I can get out of here', ' this sucks'. It's really difficult to see him like this, but at the same time, it's a huge relief, because I didn't think I was ever going to see him alive again a couplpe of weeks ago, much less hear his voice or have him look at me with the same recognition he has always had, even though it might have been a little hazy from the drugs, it's still a good feeling. I'm trying to get the people to meet a little early at lodge tonight (7: 30) so we can go see him after we meet. Visiting hours arer til 9 and he's just right down the street. His birthday is on saturday and he loves Nightmare before christmas and any kind of goth comic you can dig up, so I suggest everyone go to 'Zeus' on oaklawn and bring him a little something this week if you can. I'm also making him some tapes ( Tom Waits, TSOL, Ramones) of some stuff he can listen to while he's there and he was real excited about that. we're gonna try and come up with a walkman from somewhere so he won't drive all the other patients nuts.
