I just spent the last 3 weeks working a job with a guy who was part of a Sudanese child army. His stories were mind blowing. He was so mater of fact about everything that he'd gone through.

I saw northern lights for the first time. Not the most spectacular showings, but some faint green and peach colors were enough to keep me standing outside at -40F for longer than I probably should have.

I've got two days at home before going back to my field job, and I am in the process of switching from back from night shift hours to days. I haven't had so much sleep in years. It is heavenly.
