This past weekend was lots of fun. I drove up to Austin for a couple of sing-a-long's at the Drafthouse. Saturday night was The Muppet Movie in republic park downtown. It was so much fun, lots of people, happy little kids running around, and beautiful weather. The Muppet Movie was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. I used to play my 8-track of the soundtrack all the time and my mom would play The Rainbow Connection on the piano. Legendary grammy-winning songwriter Paul Williams was the special guest of the night and I took my mom's old copy of The Rainbow Connection sheetmusic to get autographed. Sunday night at the downtown Drafthouse Paul came back for a sing-a-long of Phantom of the Paradise, the barely known 1974 Brian dePalma rock and roll horror cult classic. I got the cover of my DVD autographed there. The drafthouse was nearly packed. I've never seen so many people there, and it was a blast. It was totally worth the drive from houston to see them.
