I just had to put down my furry companion of the past almost 12 years. She had stopped eating her food and I took her to the vet yesterday. There wasn't anything they could do for her. She had fluid surrounding her lungs which made it very difficult to breathe. The vet removed some fluid, which provided her temporary relief. She sat in my lap and purred right up until the moment when the sedative they had given her took effect. Then the vet gave her the second injection and my little friend was gone. I cried my eyes out.
