The ecstasy was followed by agony followed by ecstasy again.
What an absolutely fantastic weekend. The mighty Middlesbrough FC triumphed at the Cardiff Millenium Stadium to lift the League Cup trophy beating Bolton Wanderers 2 goals to 1. It has to go down as one of the best days of my life.
The pre match build up was excellent, All around the ground over 30,000 boro fans chanted and shouted, hoping for and end to the 128 year history of the club without winning a major tournament. The pubs where packed and the atmosphere created left you speechless.
Then to the stadium, the only one in the UK with a closable roof. Which in this case was closed, but we did our best to lift it with a cacophany of noise.
Then 2 minutes into the match we scored .It was a start we couldn't have imagined, then 5 minutes later a penalty and 2 - 0 up . This was unbelievable.
But then ........ oh no.... a stupid mistake by our goalkeeper and Bolton are back in the match. we then had to hold on for hour , fingernails were bitten down to the second set of knuckles.
The final whistle blows, we've done it. Grown men all around me have tears in their eyes, the emotional rollercoaster of a match is over.
Celebrations continued into the night and I crashed into bed physically and emotionally exhausted.
What a day.

Wow that stadium looks insane! That must've been so much fun. I just kinda got into soccer the last world cup. It's so exciting. I went to a few MLS games here in the US but they're not that spectacular.
