There has been some good blogs of recent on the Los Angeles Derby Dolls. The Dolls own Judy Gloom has a good one,"banked track roller derby: spectacle of suffering and moral beauty" that's worth a read and references some coverage of the Dolls in the last few weeks. The recent game was in fact, awesome and Judy puts her finger on its awesomeness. I am partial to the sport, and yes it is a sport, because I am fond of violent sports and violent woman, not just because my girlie was one of the founders of the Dolls.
For those in the LA area who have not yet seen the Derby Dolls, definitely go. Next bout this Saturday!
