Hellboy was a let-down. That's not to say it wasn't good; I enjoyed it, but I thought that they attempted to cram too much into too little a span of time. The overabundance of Samael beasties kinda sucked, too, since there are so many other wonderful creatures in the Mignola bestiary.
All said and done, however, Ron Perlman kicked fucking ass at being Hellboy. All of the familiar characters were spot on, and I think the biggest weakness of the movie was the storyline they chose, and little else.
My eyeball hurts. I'm thinking about pumping more steroids into it, but I probably shouldn't, seeing as how that 1 fl. oz. bottle costs 80 bucks.

i agree, they could have had a bit more diversity regarding the monster selection.
