I dont have a lot to say about them other than I love the Sci-Fi themes they envoke. Yeah it comes off as whiny "my girlfriend dumped me" sometimes but they also seem to touch on some deeper things and the lyric structure is top notch. They have a Pink Floyd/Rush type of sound which I appreciate. The lead singer/guitarist actually made a comic which I still have yet to read.
Ill start with my favorite song of theirs. Some of the line and song composition are really striking. My hair stand on end when it gets to the part where he says "until they stole our love"
This next one is one I wouldnt think I would like but I do. How it seems to work with my enjoyment of this band.
"I gave my everything for all the wrong things"
"Your selfishness has robbed you of the man you could have been"
This nest one hits me right in the chest. The short lyrics and simple guitar part shatter me. I think to myself "If Im on the outside looking in am I already dead? I have been my whole life".
This next one is a modern masterpiece. All I hear is Pink Floyd with a dark edge.
This last one is one that makes me think of my grandmother. I dont know why. She was a wonderful woman. After my grandfather passed she fell down some steps and kept asking where he was because her memory was messed up from the fall. I remember some of my family telling her "he died years ago. Dont you remember?" and she would respond saying " Yes of course I do". I remember seeing her stuff her embarrassment down out of forgetting he was gone.
