I have a friend called Sam. He has numerous faults but I can honesty say I love him as a friend. We met at college, 5 years ago, and for the next two years we were almost inseperable, going on drinking missions 4-5 days a week. He vowed he would never settle down, never have a relationship for more than 3 months, never work in a job he hated. He moved 50 miles away to university, I saw him every couple of weeks when I'd visit and we'd get smashed in a cheap club.
I worried about him a lot. He appeared to be on a journey to self destruction - he was into drugs in a big way, took anything anyone gave him. He tried to kill himself at least once.
He dropped out of uni about two years ago, hasn't taken drugs since. He rents a house, has a car, and works in an office. All things he said he'd never do.
I went out yesterday and met him for a few beers, the first time we've been out for six months or so. He's changed and I want the old Sam back. I know he's happier now, but I miss the loon I used to know.
Why do people grow up?

I think it was built in the '50s. I know the people who lived there before us, and it was just a couple and a young child. I don't know if they ever expirienced anything. My boyfriend says that the place is definitely haunted. He spends the most time there alone. I guess he's seen our dog just staring off and growling at shit that isn't there, and barking for no reason, and that's kinda out of character for her.

My mom is a practicing Wicca, and had offered to do a house cleansing when we first moved, that sort of thing is a good idea anyhow, so I'm sure we will.
