I always sort of assumed that Richard Manuel (an original member of The Band) had either died of natural causes or perhaps some sort of drug overdose. I learned today that infact, he hung himself. Suicide is never a pleasant thing, but this news has cast a lingering pall over my day. What a rotten way for a good guy to go out. Oh well...maybe he and Tracy Pew are kicking it ol' G style up in heaven. That would be nice.
