happy 4th! or what's left of it....

my best friend shawna totally lived up to the "best" title this evening...while i was stuck closing the subway at nine tonight, she came by and helped me out and kept me company so i could get out of there even sooner. then we drove up to a disc golf course by water world and staked out a spot in the grass overlooking denver/thornton/commerce city areas...this crazy girl totally thought of everything. she brought blankets, sparklers, and a radio so we just hung out and watched fireworks everywhere and listened to interpol. we got a free illegal fireworks show from some people nearby, until they got in trouble, cops-style. it just so happened, there was a police station about 100 yards away...geniuses. it just turned out to be one of those ambient summer nights that i'll store in my head and think of when it's cold and depressing out.

slimjim beat me at monopoly last night...it's not over though...
