Happy fourth!!

I've started early with the vino, which has been the case lately. Anywho, the other night I was passing by the Marquis theater post-SoCo musicfest en route to Double Daughters with Clint and Will (my friend Lane's boyfriend) and I recognized guy singer voice...turns out I went to school with him (middle/high/college). We didn't go in. I didn't want to force the others to pay $10 so I could get high school nostalgic or whatever. I sent him a myspace message though.

He responds:

"yeah that was def me and my band. haha how are you and we have a show next thursday soooooo you should come.

also,
joe smith* says he loves you.
and he is staking his claim to marry you"

*name changed for anomynity purposes.

So i had a HUGE crush on this "joe" character in the third grade....so much so that I wrote out detailed plans on how I would make him mine in one of my many elementary school journals. Eventually, I wasn't so into it anymore and in late high school/college (he went to CU as well), decided "Joe" was a giant tool. That was that.

Intrigued, I googled "Joe" but it being such a common name, wound up with nothing, so I went onto facebook to see if that had anything (I don't think Joe has a myspace.) So the facebook says I'm signed in...but I don't have a facebook. Which leads to smile of the day: this gentleman I was hanging out with on Monday and was unleashing his problems on me (because I'm apparently problem-listener girl) was telling me about this beautiful lady he wanted to be with and she went on various trips and came back unsettled and wanting to leave CO. So he brings up his facebook and shows this girl to me (and she was quite lovely) as well as the last message she sent which was somewhere along the lines of "I want to leave, I don't know what I want in life, you've been great, I'm sorry, peace out" (much more tactful, but you get the idea).

So he responds after various dialog:

"Thanks for listening to me today. I feel a lot better knowing exactly what is going on and having my questions answered. I want you to know that I wasn't just looking for a girlfriend. I know what that is like. I see people who do that every day and haven't let myself get into meaningless, needy relationships. I feel that I am different than every guy and girl on the street in that respect. It was meeting you that made me feel the way I felt. I saw your sparkling eyes and precious smile and thought that something amazing had fallen into my lap. I was cautious at first, but after seeing the sincerity and passion that you showed me, I thought I had met that one special person. From having the note prepared, to laying on the grass with the rain falling, then you coming to my place two nights in a row to be with me when I could hardly speak...it all meant a lot to me. It filled me with extra excitement and energy, despite not being able to breathe. We both seemed to want to go forward full steam, so I thought about it and put you in my heart. I am moving on because there is no other choice, and I'm not a crazy psycho."

So sweet (vino, mind you) that I had to share the story of how I got this.

In other news (not me being strange internet stalker lady) I met some of rocket scientist's friends last night which is HUGE. We've been hanging out every two to three weeks for five months now. I'm effing smitten and I don't know what to do.

Tonight I'm hanging with Lane and Will and picnicing/watching fireworks and such. I get a kick out of summer and wine and my patio.
