Because I have no idea what to write I will be posting an assignment I had to do for an English class. The assignment will be posted in 3 parts and has to do with viewing similiar things through diffeent eyes at different times.

Part 1

He stood staring at the bathroom drawer, really, at the contents within. He stared at the trappings of her illness: The surgical tubing to halt the flow of blood, the syringe and needles used to inject her veins with blissful poison, the spoon she would use to boil her love and the lighter that provided the heat, and finally, the little baggies, some with the residue of her past and one with the rocks of her future. The drawer contained razor blades, one still wet with the malice red blood of some mishap or another. It contained a mirror, some change, and an old photograph of her when she was younger, wearing jeans and a t-shirt and standing next to her mother, wearing a spite red dress. The drawer contained some little blue pills that she used to wake up in the mornings, and a prescription bottle of methadone sporting a resentment red warning label about addiction, part of an attempt to get clean. The final items in the drawer were a lipstick tube full of the self-loathing red paint prostitutes used to adorn their aged and withering lips, and a spent bar of Dial soap. He reached into his pocket. In his hand was one last item for the drawer. The carefully folded sheet of eight and a half inch by eleven inch college ruled paper fell into the drawer. It landed so that the words Dear Jane were clear to anyone who cared to look for something other then her heroine.

oh, and by the way, I thought you'd like to know... she's a christian as well. it was the wierdest thing, she usually doesn't take dates from strangers, but she said yes, she told me about going to bible college, and then I told her about my faith and it totally clicked.
