Life is interesting.
I had 3 couples as a group this evening at one of my tables. The six of them seemed very nice and were easy to talk to and actually wanted to listen to me, which can be hard to come by. It was an anniversary and the couple who was celebrating seemed familiar. But in this business, that's nothing new. Until half way through service as I'm pouring a bottle of wine into a decanter the familiar couple asks me if they can ask me a strange question. (stop right there gutter minds) I say sure, or of course, or even absolutely depending how smug I feel, and I don't really recall. They ask me. "have you ever worked on a cruise ship?" Then it all came flooding back to me. Yes, I tell them, and they are like "the one in Hawaii" I say yes again, and start recalling things we talked about and the entire week we spent together.
So, needless to say we chatted for a bit while our minds were blown. It was nice to be recognized, but also to actually say to someone half a world a way, "perhaps we'll see each other again," and to actually see them again.

and thanks! Right now im on season 3 episode 6 of the x-files. not sure why it took my so long to just sit myself down and start watching it from the beginning. ive only seen random episodes here and there, and some clips from the movies.
