Curious...what's your major?
I went to MHS. What a shithole. Which friend of mine did you recognize from there?
I actually got along with most people because I was really nice, but I occasionally got shit just for hanging out with the people I did. Shit by association, or something. Plus my best friend was like the most confrontational person imaginable, the total opposite of me. Hanging out with her always guaranteed me an "interesting" time.
I've never heard the term "dry-housers" before.
It's weird you gave me a link to that article about Columbine, because I just read that last night. Scared the shit out of me. At one time I was put on Luvox because of my OCD, and my friend Matt told me one of the Columbine kids had been on that. I pretty much immediately stopped taking those pills. *shudder*
I looooooooove Lori Carson. In fact, "Everything I Touch Runs Wild" is spinning in my stereo right now. The first song of hers I heard was "Snow Come Down" and I thought it was the most simple, most romantic song I'd ever heard. It actually made me cry. I've been a huge fan ever since. She's just a brilliant songwriter. I've wanted to go to one of her songwriting workshops for a long time. Someday I think I will.
She provided vocals for a couple of albums by a band called The Golden Palominos that are really amazing. If you're into trip-hoppy kind of stuff. Check 'em out.

How fucking awesome is the weather today?! I love it.
I read the story about Dana, that's really sad. I think I've watched way more than my fair share of friends or young family members die.
And I'm usually woken up with the news. Maybe that's why I don't sleep much.
"Katy, wake up." "Huh...what?" "Matt's dead."
A couple of years ago we had to take one of our friends to the hospital after he tried to kill himself and we all met in the hospital cafeteria and it was like "Yeah, how many times have we been here now?" We just goofed off and tried to keep the mood light. Luckily that friend survived.
That day is when our cheese fry summit tradition started. I try not to think about that.
Waking Life is an amazing movie, but it's one that requires your full attention. It's a great movie to sit down and watch with your...uhm...thinker-type friends.
Guaranteed discussion starter.
Those lyrics are really pretty. B.H.C. Who is that?

Hey, don't know if you saw but I replied to your last entry.
I'm glad our weather situation is improving.

I was talking about the Sisters Of Mercy song from The Lost Boys soundtrack. That was my favorite movie when I was a kid, and I saw it on I Love the 80's and got all nostalgic.
Are you talking about Tiffany Cramer by any chance? She was a friend of mine in grade school. It's weird because I was just thinking about her recently. I remember very clearly the moment I found out she was killed.

WVU gave us Good Friday off... I spent most of the day mowing various family members' lawns... Mowing grass is the most boring and monotonous activity ever created by human beings. I would rather take standardized tests all day every day for a month than spend one hour mowing grass. I hate it. Back and forth and back and forth... Only my faithful portable cd...

I've so many beautiful sunrises/sunsets in Morgantown. That's something I always make a point to take notice of.
I didn't get to see Girl With A Pearl Earring, I didn't really want to see it too badly. Just a little, because Colin Firth is fine.
It's a rare movie that can get my ass in theater. The last movie I went to see before Eternal Sunshine was American Splendor, and that was about six months ago.
Both excellent movies!
Hearing birds chirp on an early Spring morning = instant happiness for me.

Oops... I meant to add that as a "comment" to my last journal post... It won't make any sense if you don't read the end of that one... (I write this to the hundreds of people who will view it... Eventually... Maybe... Probably not...)
This is a great place to vent, even if, at most, only one or two people will ever read it... Here, I can let out frustrations, or just ramble for a while (something I tend to indulge in), and then look at lotsa' naked girls... What a great website...

I took a bitch of a test today... I probably bombed it. Of couse, I thought that I did poorly on the first exam in this class, but when I got it back, I ended up doing really well. So, since I think that I did worse on this one, if the same luck holds, maybe I'll end up doing even better than last time......

2:30 in the morning... I can not get to sleep... I have a really important test tommorrow, which I will probably have to take half-awake... This has happened before... Not much fun when you can't keep your eyes open to concentrate...

I have good friends who live in a house out in the country... At night, there is a near complete absence of sound. Whenever I crash at their place, I go out of my mind trying to figure out where little noises are coming from...
Also- at least once a week, at some point farther along than drowsiness, but not quite at sleep, I get startled and wake up suddenly. I have the feeling that someone is standing near my bed... My friends told me that it's my spirit leaving my body at the onset on unconsciousness, seeing itself in the mirror by my bed, becoming scared and quickly returning to my body. I wake as it's coming back, and that's what I perceive as someone standing near me. (My friends said this belief came from a certain society; but I can not remember which one right now).
Since it's me standing next to me, I suppose this is fine...

If you ever get another Ani album I would recommend "Dilate". It's the first one I bought...and it's brilliant. It's also probably the most accessible to people that are just discovering her.
Eternal Sunshine is so good. I'm really sad that I only got to see it once. It's my own lazy fault though. That and the general masses that don't recognize an amazing movie they should be spending their money on instead of Walking Tall.
I used to have the sleep problem you're talking about. I was actually going to write in my journal about it. When you're just falling asleep (or just waking up) your body enters a state of paralysis. Sometimes you can still be "awake" but have dreamlike visions appear to you.
Seeing a figure next to you while in this state is not uncommon. Even if there is an explanation for it they still used to scare me. Sometimes I would also feel as if something was trying to pull me out of my bed. There was some more frightening stuff that happened but I won't get into it here. I thought for a while I was under some kind of spiritual attack.

The gargoyle demanded that I write something, however stupid, to start this journal... In fact, I think he'd rather write this than me, so:

LiviaRose is my sister.
You're a poli-sci major, that rules. I'm interested in politics to the point of scary obsession I think. If I decided to go back to school that would probably be something I'd be interested in studying...maybe not my major. I'd be a math major....cuz I'm a math nerd.
My friend's band is called Fake Eddie. Their live show kicks ass. I love those guys.
Thanks for explaining the dry-houser thing. I can honestly say I've never heard that term before.
