My Apocalyptometer has been reading 75% following the recent naval hijinks between the North and South Koreans on the Yellow Sea this past weekend. When oh when will humanity finally get what it deserves?

I'm ripping through a great book, Biohazard, written by Ken Alibek, a former USSR Bioweaponeer who defected to the USA in 1992. Anyone who ever pooh-poohed Ronald Reagan's description of the Soviet Union as The Evil Empire needs to read this book. The USSR was producing *tons* of anthrax even as they were signing the 1969 Biological Weapons Convention. As recently as 1990 they were weaponizing Marburg virus, a close relative of Ebola hemorrhagic fever. Alibek was working on combining the virulence of Ebola with the contagion of Smallpox prior to his departure. Very scary stuff (watch The Omega Man.)
