I've been in a bit of a somber mood lately. I guess I've been this way for a while, you could say, My life has been good, great in fact. I just seem to be continually stalked by a dark and gloomy cloud that seems to take over the lives of many of the people close to me and therefore I seem to be affected as well. Family life is and has been rough for a while now. A good friend of 12 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer recently at the ripe old age of 29. He might have a year to live or maybe 5, who knows. I've been in the hospital a lot lately visiting with him and we talk about old times. My friend's uncle passed away a couple of weeks ago suddenly in his sleep. I think he was only 45. He was in thanatogenous's neck of the woods. I told him there are good people up there and that hopefully the funeral would be well taken care of. He seemed to take comfort in that. He said it went as well as it could have.

May we all live a life as rich and full as this man's... I know I try to every day. smile

It Was a Very Good Year:

When I was seventeen
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
Wed hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stair
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was twenty-one

When I was thirty-five
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
Wed ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five

But now the days grow short
Im in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
>from fine old kegs
>from the brim to the dregs
And it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

It was a mess of good years

Take care my friends.
