At some point I'll have to put up photos of my beautiful new desk (see last entry for details ^^)

I actually built furniture myself, it was fantastic!

For my birthday weekend I went to visit my parents who presented me with an A4 Intuos3 graphics tablet, possibly the most wondrous thing I've ever owned! (aside from the desk, Mikael) I look forward to becoming the best artist in the world now.

They also drove me to Arundel Castle to ogle it and plan how I might marry the Earl of Norfolk who I think is the guy who owns it. I still desperately love all things medieval and would love to live in a castle.

Then this week signing up a customer for membership I read on his driving license that his address was Compton Castle. 'An *actual* castle?' I rudely enquired. 'Uh..yeh...It's my parents' castle, I moved out a couple of years ago' came the response from Walter Raleigh Gilbert, whose name I slightly mocked as a heavy one to live up to. Turns out after I googled the castle that he actually is related to the actual Walter Raleigh. OOPS! But he was only a year older than me and I could so marry him. His castle isn't remotely medieval looking though. He sold lots of rubbish Xbox games, for those of you who are fans of the little details.

Today I started a new medication for bipolarity which was originally for epilepsy and it feels like a trip so BRILLIANT! It should subside after a week though and make me normal and chilled. Wicked!

Also this week I investigated the National Debt Line and found myself eligible for a free Debt Management Plan which has saved my bacon a bit, but also scuppered it a bit as I was hoping to get hair extensions next month and if I start the plan then I won't be able to afford it. It will be a year and a half before I can buy any luxuries again in fact. Gutting. But who needs luxuries?

While nobody in fact needs luxuries, I still feel I need more hair. ARRR!!!

Ah, there you are!!

Thanks for the 'add' m'dear! I was looking for your profile earlier but couldn't find it!! I still have your old profile (Teela) on my friends lists, hehe!

Wow, a fun time you've been having, and a belated happy b'day to you! What a coincidence that you were at Arundel castle - i drove past there on Friday twice on my way to a and back from a work meeting at our Hampshire office.

There's a nice pub in Arundel next to the river that we sometimes go to...the Black Rabbit I think it's called, or something. Gimmie a shout if you'd like a trip out there again one weekend! I need an excuse to get the Z4 out....(I'll mail you my contact details...).

Great news that you've had a positive breakthru with an appropriate. medication..sounds good! Positive also that you've come to a good arrangement with your debt management plan, but it saddens me that that brings with it a period of austerity for you. Likewise, If you fancy a night of champagne cocktails let me know...another thing for which i seek any excuse....

Home built furniture rules, how awesome are you!?

Living in a castle would be cool. I now live in a victorian asylum....hehe!

Anyways, spk soon
luff,
mark.

Oh God, geek moment coming on. It's the Duke of Norfolk. His first born is known as the Earl of Arundel until he inherits the senior title.

It's still the Howard family of Catherine Howard-Henry VIII fame. If you ever want something to illustrate just how ancient Britains nobility is that's it in a nut shell.

Arundel Castle is utterly beautiful and totally fake. Rebuilt in the 19th century after Cronwell had flattened the original back in the 17th. In a siege the current castle would be as much use as the first 2 little pigs houses. biggrin

Pointless history lesson over. Sorry about that, it's the sort of thing I can't resist talking about.
